Active Subscribers
Definition
The number of people currently paying for an active subscription, not counting cancelled, expired or paused ones.
Why it matters
Active subscribers are the living base your recurring revenue rests on. Watching it alongside MRR tells you whether growth is coming from more people or from charging each one more.
Example
You have 320 active subscribers this month, up from 300 last month, so your paying base grew by 20.
