Automation Trigger
Definition
An event that starts an automated workflow, such as a form submission, payment received, or email opened, which then executes a predefined sequence of actions.
Why it matters
Identifying the right triggers is how you build automations that run reliably without manual intervention. Every trigger should map to a specific business outcome.
Example
Trigger: customer purchases a course → Actions: send welcome email, grant course access, add to onboarding sequence, tag in CRM. All automated from one purchase event.
