Batch Processing

Definition

Grouping similar tasks together and completing them in one dedicated session rather than switching between different types of work throughout the day.

Why it matters

Context switching costs up to 40% of productivity. When you batch emails, batch calls, and batch creative work into separate blocks, you eliminate the mental overhead of constant switching.

Example

Instead of checking and responding to email all day, you process email twice daily: 9am (30 min) and 4pm (30 min). You respond to everything, then close the tab. Reclaimed: 90+ minutes of deep work per day.
