Brain Dump
Definition
The practice of rapidly writing down every thought, task, idea, worry, or piece of information from your mind onto paper or a digital document, clearing mental RAM so focused thinking becomes possible.
Why it matters
The mind is poor at holding many things simultaneously. A brain dump transfers everything from working memory to an external system, reducing anxiety, ending mental loops, and freeing cognitive capacity for the thinking that actually matters.
Example
A founder who feels overwhelmed and scattered sits down for fifteen minutes and writes every outstanding task, nagging thought, half-formed idea, and worry without filtering or ordering. Afterwards she feels significantly calmer and can prioritise the list with a clear head rather than feeling buried under its invisible weight.
