Close Rate

Definition

The percentage of sales conversations or proposals that result in a closed sale. Close Rate = Closed Deals ÷ Total Opportunities × 100.

Why it matters

Your close rate tells you how effective your sales process is. A 20% close rate means you need 5 conversations to win 1 client. Improving to 30% means you need only 3.3.

Example

A coach has 10 discovery calls in a month and signs 3 clients. Her close rate is 30%. She needs to know this to forecast income accurately.
