Content Pillars

Definition

The 3-5 core themes or topics that form the foundation of your content strategy. Every piece of content should fall under one of your pillars.

Why it matters

Content pillars create consistency and strategic direction. Without them, your content becomes random and confusing. Both to your audience and to the algorithm.

Example

A skincare brand's content pillars: 1. Education (ingredients and routines) | 2. Results (before and after) | 3. Brand story | 4. Customer reviews | 5. Behind the scenes. Everything maps to one of these.
