Marketing & Advertisingintermediate
CPC
Cost Per Click
Definition
The amount you pay each time someone clicks on your ad. CPC = Total ad spend ÷ Total number of clicks.
Why it matters
CPC tells you how expensive it is to drive traffic from a paid source. A high CPC with a low conversion rate will quickly drain your budget.
Example
You spend £20 on a Google ad campaign and receive 40 clicks. Your CPC is £0.50 per click.
