E-Commerce & Product Sellingbeginner
D2C
Direct to Consumer
Definition
Selling your products directly to end customers through your own website or social channels, without going through retailers, wholesalers, or marketplaces.
Why it matters
D2C brands own the customer relationship, collect first-party data, and keep full margin. It builds brand equity in a way that selling on Amazon never can.
Example
Instead of wholesaling your candles to gift shops at £8 each, you sell them directly on your Shopify store at £22 each, triple the margin and direct access to your customer.
