Deal Flow

Definition

The rate at which investment opportunities, partnership proposals, acquisition targets, or client enquiries are presented to an investor or business for consideration.

Why it matters

High deal flow gives investors and founders optionality. For founders seeking investment, being in investors' deal flow means being actively considered. For founders evaluating partnerships, strong deal flow means better choices.

Example

A founder who speaks at conferences, publishes thought leadership, and maintains a strong network generates consistent inbound deal flow. Instead of chasing investors, they approach her with partnership and investment enquiries.
