Debug
Definition
The process of finding and fixing errors (bugs) in code. Debugging involves reading error messages, adding console logs, using browser dev tools, or stepping through code line by line.
Why it matters
Debugging is most of what developers actually do, estimates suggest 50% of coding time is fixing bugs. Understanding the process helps you support developers and set realistic timelines.
Example
A founder's checkout button stops working. The developer opens browser DevTools, sees a JavaScript error, traces it to a missing variable, and fixes it in 10 minutes.
