Decision Fatigue
Definition
The deterioration of decision-making quality after a long session of choices, the mental depletion that makes even simple decisions feel overwhelming.
Why it matters
Founders make hundreds of decisions daily. Decision fatigue leads to poor choices, avoided decisions, and burnout. Reducing trivial decisions (routines, templates, defaults) preserves capacity for the important ones.
Example
Steve Jobs wore the same outfit every day to eliminate one daily decision. A founder uses email templates, scheduled times for specific task types, and standing routines, protecting her best thinking for strategy.
