Design Right

Definition

Automatic intellectual property protection for the visual appearance of a product, including shape, configuration, pattern, or colour, without requiring registration in the UK.

Why it matters

Design rights protect the look of your products from being copied. Unregistered design right arises automatically; registered design right provides stronger, longer protection.
