Digital Detox

Definition

A deliberate period of reduced or zero use of digital devices and social media, chosen to reduce overstimulation, restore focus, and reconnect with offline activities and presence.

Why it matters

Constant digital connectivity degrades deep thinking, increases anxiety, and makes sustained creative work harder. Regular digital detoxes protect cognitive capacity and model healthy boundaries with technology that many founder audiences are also seeking.

Example

A founder implements a weekend digital detox: no email or social media from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Within a month she notices she arrives at Monday with more creative ideas, better strategic clarity, and significantly lower baseline stress than when she was connected seven days a week.
