DPI
Dots Per Inch
Definition
A measure of how much detail an image holds when printed, counted as the number of ink dots packed into each inch. Higher DPI means a sharper print; screens need far less than print does.
Why it matters
Uploading a design at too low a DPI is why prints come out blurry or pixelated. Print platforms usually ask for around 300 DPI, so knowing this saves wasted stock and refunds.
Example
A seller re-exports artwork at 300 DPI after a test print at 72 DPI came back fuzzy, and the reprint is crisp.
