Error Handling

Definition

Code designed to gracefully catch, manage, and respond to errors, showing users helpful messages instead of crashes, and logging failures for developer review.

Why it matters

Unhandled errors cause crashes, data loss, and poor user experience. Good error handling is the difference between a product that feels trustworthy and one that feels unstable.

Example

A founder's checkout page has error handling: if the payment fails, users see "Payment declined, please try a different card" rather than a blank page or error code.
