FOMO
Fear of Missing Out
Definition
A psychological trigger used in marketing to create urgency, the fear that an opportunity is disappearing creates pressure to act immediately.
Why it matters
FOMO is one of the most powerful conversion drivers. Genuine scarcity and time limits reduce procrastination and increase purchase decisions.
Example
"Only 3 left in stock" or "Sale ends in 2 hours, don't miss out" are FOMO triggers. When used honestly (not fake countdowns), they can lift conversion rates by 20-30%.
