Git

Definition

A version control system that tracks changes to your code over time. It lets you save snapshots (commits), experiment on branches, and collaborate with others without overwriting each other's work.

Why it matters

Git is the safety net of software development. It means you can always undo mistakes, understand what changed, and work with a team without chaos.

Example

A founder accidentally deletes a working feature. She runs git checkout to restore it instantly, no harm done.
