Gross Revenue Retention

Definition

The percentage of recurring revenue you keep from existing customers over a period, before adding any upgrades.

Why it matters

Gross revenue retention shows how sticky your product is, since it ignores new sales and only measures what you hold onto.

Example

If you started the year with £100k of recurring revenue and kept £90k from those customers, your gross revenue retention is 90%.
