Hot Lead

Definition

A prospect who is ready to buy now. They have the need, the budget, the authority, and the urgency. They need a proposal and a conversation, not nurturing.

Why it matters

Hot leads require a completely different approach than cold or warm leads. Treating a hot lead like a cold one, sending educational content when they just need a price, loses the sale.

Example

A prospect messages: "I've been following you for 6 months, I've got budget approved, I need your service by end of month, can you send me a proposal?" That is a hot lead. Respond within the hour.
