Inventory Management
Definition
The process of tracking, ordering, storing, and using your product stock, knowing how much you have, where it is, and when to reorder.
Why it matters
Poor inventory management leads to two equally costly problems: stockouts (lost sales) and overstock (tied-up cash). Good inventory management keeps you in the profitable middle.
Example
You track stock levels weekly. When a SKU falls below 50 units, it triggers a reorder alert. You always have 4-6 weeks of stock on hand, never running out, never over-investing.
