Lead Scoring

Definition

A system that assigns numerical values to leads based on their attributes and behaviour, prioritising the most sales-ready prospects for follow-up.

Why it matters

Not all leads are equal. Lead scoring ensures your sales and marketing effort is focused on prospects most likely to convert, improving efficiency and close rates.

Example

A SaaS company scores leads: +10 for watching a demo video, +15 for starting a trial, +20 for visiting the pricing page, +5 for opening 3 emails. Leads over 40 points go to the sales team.
