Loyalty Programme
Definition
A structured reward system where customers earn points, discounts, or benefits the more they buy, encouraging repeat purchases and emotional brand attachment.
Why it matters
Acquiring a new customer costs 5-7× more than retaining an existing one. A loyalty programme turns one-time buyers into repeat customers and advocates.
Example
Every £1 spent earns 10 loyalty points. 500 points = £5 off. Customers who join your loyalty scheme spend 67% more on average and have 80% lower churn than non-members.
