MAU

Monthly Active Users

Definition

The number of unique users who engage with a product at least once within a 30-day period, used to measure overall product reach and retention.

Why it matters

MAU is a standard metric for measuring the scale and health of a digital product. Investors often value SaaS and consumer app businesses partly on their MAU trends.

Example

A mobile app reports 50,000 MAU, growing 15% month-on-month. Investors see this as strong traction.
