Message-Market Fit
Definition
The alignment between how you describe and position your offer and the language, desires, and pain points of your target market, resulting in messaging that resonates deeply and converts without resistance.
Why it matters
A great product with poor messaging will underperform a mediocre product with exceptional messaging. Message-market fit is often the difference between a campaign that flops and one that sells out.
Example
A founder sells a productivity course. She tests two messages: "Master time management" versus "Stop losing evenings to overwhelm and guilt." The second message, rooted in emotional language her audience uses, triples her click-through rate.
