Micro-Influencer
Definition
A content creator with a smaller but highly engaged audience, typically 5,000 to 100,000 followers, who specialises in a specific niche.
Why it matters
Micro-influencers often deliver higher engagement rates and better ROI than mega-influencers because their audience is niche, loyal, and trusts their recommendations deeply.
Example
A fitness creator with 18,000 followers who posts specifically about postpartum recovery has an extremely targeted audience. A relevant product promotion might convert at 4-6%, vs 0.5% for a celebrity.
