Mockup
Definition
A realistic visual of how a finished product or design will look, created before it physically exists. In product businesses a mockup shows artwork placed on a mug or t-shirt; in software it shows a polished screen design.
Why it matters
Mockups let you show and sell a product before spending money making it, and let you test which designs people want. They turn a rough idea into something people can react to.
Example
A seller drops a new design onto a t-shirt mockup and posts it to their audience, taking pre-orders before ordering any stock.
