NDA

Non-Disclosure Agreement

Definition

A legal contract where one or both parties agree to keep specific information confidential, used before sharing sensitive business ideas, financials, or strategies.

Why it matters

An NDA creates a legal paper trail if confidential information is leaked. For product development, supplier negotiations, or investor meetings, they provide basic protection.

Example

Before sharing your unpatented product concept with a manufacturer, you both sign an NDA. If they share your design with a competitor, you have legal recourse.
