Net Sales
Definition
Your sales figure after refunds, discounts and returns have been taken off, showing the money you actually kept from selling.
Why it matters
Net sales give a truer picture of how your shop is really performing than gross sales, which is vital for honest planning and pricing.
Example
You make £20,000 in gross sales but give £2,000 in refunds and discounts, so your net sales are £18,000.
