Newsletter

Definition

A regular email publication sent to subscribers, distinct from marketing emails in that the content itself is the product, not just a vehicle for selling.

Why it matters

Newsletters build a direct, owned relationship with your audience. Unlike social media, your list can't be taken away by an algorithm change. The most engaged founders' communities live in email.

Example

A founder sends a weekly newsletter to 3,200 subscribers sharing behind-the-scenes business lessons. Open rate: 42%. Every product launch to this list outsells cold traffic ads.
