Order Bump
Definition
A small, relevant add-on offer presented at the checkout that a customer can add with a single tick before completing their purchase.
Why it matters
Order bumps increase average order value with almost no extra effort because the customer is already in buying mode. Even a low take-up adds meaningful revenue.
Example
A founder selling a £40 online course adds an order bump for a £12 workbook at checkout. Around a third of buyers tick the box, lifting her average order value.
