Outsourcing

Definition

Hiring external individuals or agencies to perform tasks or functions rather than doing them in-house, typically to reduce cost, access expertise, or free founder time.

Why it matters

Founders who outsource effectively scale faster. The question is not "Can I do this?" but "Should I be the one doing this, or can someone else do it at lower cost per hour?"

Example

A founder outsources bookkeeping to an accountant (£150/month), copywriting to a freelancer, and customer support to a VA, freeing 20 hours per month for strategy and sales.
