Definition
The observation that "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion", tasks take as long as you allow them to.
Why it matters
Understanding Parkinson's Law is a productivity superpower. Setting artificial shorter deadlines forces focus and often produces better results in less time.
Example
A founder gives herself 2 hours to write a newsletter. Previously she spent 5 hours and it was no better. She finishes in 90 minutes with a focused deadline.
