Pre-Launch
Definition
The period and associated activities before an official product or programme launch, focused on building anticipation, warming up an audience, and creating a waitlist of interested buyers.
Why it matters
A strong pre-launch removes the risk of launching to silence. It generates demand before supply is publicly available, creates social proof through waitlist size, and ensures day-one momentum.
Example
Six weeks before her product release, a founder begins sharing behind-the-scenes content, opens a waitlist with early-bird pricing, hosts a free challenge related to the product topic, and builds a launch email list of 800 interested subscribers.
