Problem-Solution Fit
Definition
The stage of business validation where you have confirmed there is a genuine, widespread problem AND that your solution meaningfully addresses it, before building at scale.
Why it matters
Many businesses fail because they build solutions to problems that do not really exist, or that people will not pay to solve. Problem-solution fit validates demand before significant investment.
Example
A founder interviews 30 people about their accounting pain points. 25 mention the same problem. She prototypes a solution, tests it, and refines it before building the full product.
