Product Description
Definition
The written copy on a product listing that explains what the product is, what it does, who it is for, and why it is worth buying.
Why it matters
A great product description sells. A weak one confuses or bores. For online stores without the ability to touch or try products, the description is your silent salesperson.
Example
Weak: "Lavender candle. 200g. 40 hour burn time." Strong: "Unwind after a long day with our hand-poured lavender and chamomile soy candle. 40 hours of calm in a 200g jar, made in Devon with no synthetic fragrance."
