Product Variants
Definition
Different versions of the same core product, differing in size, colour, material, scent, or other attributes. Each variant is a separate SKU.
Why it matters
Offering variants increases the probability that a customer finds exactly what they want, reducing the chance they leave to search elsewhere.
Example
Your signature lip balm comes in Original, Rose, Mint, and Honey. Each is a variant. On Shopify, one product listing shows all four options. 4 variants = 4 SKUs.
