Project-Based Pricing

Definition

Charging a fixed price for a defined scope of work, rather than billing by the hour, allowing both client and provider to know the total investment upfront.

Why it matters

Project pricing rewards efficiency: the faster you deliver quality work, the more profitable you are. Clients also prefer the certainty of a fixed fee over open-ended hourly billing.

Example

A copywriter quotes £2,400 for a full website copy project: 6 pages, 2 revision rounds, 14-day delivery. Both parties know exactly what is included and what it costs.
