Proof of Concept
Definition
An early, minimal demonstration that a business idea, product feature, or technical approach is feasible and worth pursuing before significant resources are committed.
Why it matters
Proof of concept reduces the risk of building the wrong thing at scale. It is cheaper to test an assumption with a prototype or manual process than to discover a fatal flaw after months of development.
Example
Before building a full booking platform, a founder manually schedules her first ten clients via email and spreadsheet to prove that people will actually pay for the service. Once demand is confirmed, she invests in automation.
