Quarterly Business Review
Definition
A structured meeting held every quarter where business performance is reviewed against goals, key metrics are analysed, challenges are addressed, and priorities for the next quarter are set.
Why it matters
A regular QBR creates accountability, forces honest evaluation of what is and is not working, and ensures the business stays directionally correct rather than drifting through reactive decisions. It is a cornerstone of disciplined execution.
Example
A founder holds a solo quarterly business review using a structured template. She reviews revenue against targets, identifies that podcast appearances drove 40% of leads, cuts underperforming ad spend, and sets three clear priorities for the next quarter.
