Pricing & Salesintermediate
Retainer Model
Definition
A pricing structure where a client pays a fixed recurring fee, monthly or quarterly, in exchange for an agreed scope of ongoing services.
Why it matters
Retainers create predictable MRR from a service business. They reduce the feast-and-famine cycle of project-based work and build deeper client relationships.
Example
Instead of one-off branding projects at £2,000, you offer a £500/month brand management retainer, ongoing social templates, monthly brand refresh, priority support. Client keeps you forever.
