Scalability
Definition
The ability of a business or process to grow in revenue without a proportional increase in costs. A scalable business makes more money without working proportionally more hours.
Why it matters
Non-scalable businesses hit a ceiling defined by your time. Scalable ones, especially digital products, SaaS, and productised services, can grow to any size.
Example
A custom illustration business is not scalable, every client requires your hours. A digital template shop IS scalable, 1,000 sales costs no more time than 10 sales.
