Second Brain
Definition
An external, digital system for capturing, organising, and retrieving notes, ideas, and knowledge, so your biological brain is freed from storage and focused on thinking.
Why it matters
A second brain prevents good ideas being lost, creates connections between knowledge over time, and reduces cognitive load. Tools like Notion, Obsidian, or Roam are commonly used.
