Series B

Definition

A funding round that follows Series A, raised once a company has proven it can grow and now needs more capital to expand into new markets or products.

Why it matters

A Series B usually means scaling what already works, so investors expect strong metrics and a clear path to bigger revenue.

Example

A subscription app with steady growth raises a £15m Series B to launch in three new countries.
