Service Worker
Definition
A script that runs in the background of a web browser, separate from the page. Powers PWA features like offline access, background sync, and push notifications.
Why it matters
The service worker is what transforms a regular website into a PWA. It intercepts network requests and can serve cached content when the user is offline.
Example
A founder's app service worker caches the dashboard shell. Even without internet, users can view their tasks and progress, data syncs when connectivity returns.
