Session Replay
Definition
A tool that records and replays actual user sessions on your website or app, capturing clicks, scrolls, form interactions, and navigation paths as a video.
Why it matters
Session replay removes the guesswork from UX improvements. Watching real users struggle with a form, miss a call to action, or repeatedly click the wrong element is more instructive than any survey or aggregate metric.
Example
Session replay reveals that 40% of users who reach your signup form abandon it after the third field. Watching recordings shows they are confused by a form label. Rewriting the label and removing two optional fields increases form completion by 55%.
