Showroom
Definition
A physical or virtual space where buyers, press and stockists view your collection in person to place wholesale orders. In fashion it can also mean an agency that represents your brand to retailers.
Why it matters
Showrooms put your range in front of the exact people who buy in volume. Being carried by a respected showroom can open doors to stockists you could not reach alone.
Example
During fashion week a brand shows its collection in a Paris showroom for three days, where buyers from several boutiques handle the samples and write orders on the spot.
