Squeeze Page
Definition
A minimal, single-purpose landing page with no navigation or distracting links, designed purely to capture a visitor's email address in exchange for a lead magnet or free resource.
Why it matters
Removing all distractions from a sign-up page and focusing on one single action dramatically increases conversion rates. A squeeze page that converts at 40% outperforms a general homepage that converts at 2%, even with less traffic.
Example
A founder creates a squeeze page for her free "30-Day Launch Checklist." The page has a headline, three bullet points describing what the checklist covers, an email capture form, and nothing else. The absence of menus, footers, and links means visitors either enter their email or leave, with no competing actions.
