Stack

Definition

The combination of technologies used to build an application, typically described as "tech stack." Includes frontend, backend, database, hosting, and any key libraries.

Why it matters

Your tech stack determines what developers you can hire, how fast you can build, and what trade-offs you live with long term. Common stacks have communities, tutorials, and hiring pools.

Example

A founder describes her stack: "Next.js frontend on Vercel, Supabase for auth and database, Stripe for payments, and Resend for email", a full-featured modern stack.
