Target Audience
Definition
The specific group of people most likely to buy your product or service, defined by demographics, psychographics, behaviours, and needs.
Why it matters
Trying to sell to everyone means selling to no one. The more precisely you know your target audience, the more effective every marketing pound becomes.
Example
Instead of "women aged 25-45," your target audience is: "Female entrepreneurs aged 28-38, earning £40k+ as freelancers, who want to go full-time in their business within 12 months."
