Tax Deductible Expenses
Definition
Business costs you can subtract from your revenue before calculating taxable profit, reducing how much tax you owe.
Why it matters
Every legitimate expense you fail to claim costs you money. A £200 software subscription claimed as a deductible expense saves you £40 in tax (at 20% rate).
Example
Deductible expenses include: office supplies, professional subscriptions, marketing software, accountant fees, business travel, equipment, and your mobile phone (business use portion).
